Whole Lota Baby

I was happy to make it to my appointment today. My doctor had a family emergency so he was out of the office this week (extra motivation to keep these babies in). I didn't get to see him today but they still did the ultrasound and measured the babies. I knew they were getting big but wow!!! Baby 1 (Ethan) 4lb 14oz Baby 2 (Leah) 4lb 14oz Baby 3 (Logan) 4lb 9oz Total about 14.5 pounds of baby...I knew my belly was feeling heavy. Yesterday I felt Logan moving around a lot and making my stomach bulge out like crazy. I was sitting there watching and wondered what he was up to and if it was him turning around. Today the tech said he was no longer breach. He turned completely around yesterday. I guess he found some room in there some where. The pictures from today aren't much to talk about. Since their backs are facing out the tech didn't work too hard to get face shots and we ended up with more head and spine pictures of all of them. I'm just happy they are still doin...

33 Weeks!

After such a crazy week I'm so happy to be 33 weeks. Now I just have to lay low and take it easy and keep them in a few more weeks to make it to my c-section date at 36 weeks. Eric helped me setup the tripod and camera so I could take belly pictures. He's doing a great job making sure I spend most of the time laying around just growing babies.

Home

Happily I was sent home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. I had a good night without too many contractions and actually got some sleep. So my doctor thought it would be fine for me to go home. I had a good night again last night again and was so excited when the clock said 8am...I made it. Now, I am just looking forward to another good night tonight and tomorrow I'll be 33 weeks!

Stupid Contractions

Well I never made it to the doctor appointment. Tuesday night the exact same thing happened as the previous night. I woke up again with contractions every 5 minutes. So we were on our way back to the hospital. Eventually they stopped the contractions again (with the IV fluids and shots) and after talking with my doctor in the morning he decided to keep me at the hospital so we didn't have to make the trip to the hospital again in the middle of the night. So last night once again just like the previous two nights I woke up with contractions every 5 minutes. So they hooked up the contraction monitor to watch what was happening. I think I was more relaxed already being at the hospital and my body didn't have the extra stress of getting up, dressed and heading to the hospital. So when I noticed the contractions starting I drank a bunch of water which actually was able to slow down and stop the contractions. It was definitely a more relaxing night and I was able to get about 5 hours...

Early Morning

We had an early morning today. I woke up just before 4am with contractions (that hurt) every 5 minutes. After drinking a lot of water without them stopping I called my doctor who sent me to the hospital to get checked out. They got me all hooked up to with a monitor for each baby and a monitor for the contractions on my belly (there wasn't much room to scratch the itchiness). They also started an IV and pumped a bunch of fluids into me. After a little while they decided to give me some medication to stop the contractions and a steroid shot to help develop the babies lungs (just in case). The contractions slowed down and I wasn't dilated at all so they let me go home around 8:30am. I have an appointment tomorrow morning at my doctor to get the 2 nd steroid shot and get checked out. So, now I just have to take it easy and keep growing these babies.

32 Weeks

I hit another big milestone. Thirty two weeks is the average gestation with triplets. So I'm happy to be doing well and letting them all grow more, even thought hit feels like they are trying to bust through the side of my belly. I managed to find some energy last night to take some belly pictures after our friend's daughter's first Birthday party. Mainly I pushed to do the pictures because I was actually dressed with my hair and makeup done a bit. I'm not sure the next time this week I'll need to get all done up or have the energy.

Save The Date

I had a great doctor appointment today. They looked at the babies again to make sure they all have a good amount of fluid around them and at me to make sure I'm still holding up. Everyone is still doing great!!! The most exciting part of the appointment...they scheduled my c-section today for February 16 th at noon. I'll be at 36 weeks and 1 day then. 36 weeks is actually considered term for triplets and on average people carrying triplets make it to 32 weeks (that will be Sunday). I'm pretty happy with everything so far. They gave us more pictures today. Our laptop is having problems so as soon as we get it up and running I'll update with the pictures. The babies are getting really squished in there and it's getting hard to get good profile pictures of them, but we did get pictures of Leah and some cute foot pictures for the boys. I asked the tech if you could see hair on the babies heads in the ultrasound. She found the back of their heads and we were able to se...

31 Weeks

I'm so excited to have made it this far and still be doing well. I think the toughest thing at this point is finding ways to entertain myself. I've taken up scrapbooking and am still crocheting blankets (and a cute little hat for Leah), but my latest entertainment is changing the lyrics to songs...it's fun. Well I've done one song so far, Sir Mix A Lot's song Baby Got Back . The first half of the song lends itself well to modification. Here is my version...Baby Got Belly Oh my god, Becky, look at her belly It is so big She looks like one of those rap guys girlfriends Who understands those rap guys They only talk to her because she looks totally pregnant, ok? I mean her belly It's just so big I can't believe it's so round It's just out there I mean, it's huge Look, she's just so big I like big bellies and I can not lie You other brothers can't deny That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty butt And a round thing under her face You g...

It's Friday

I'm so glad it's Friday. After having Eric home for almost two weeks it was a bit tough getting back into the swing of things again and being home with Missy all day. This week wasn't too bad. My mom came over on Tuesday and brought me ice cream (mmmm thanks Mom). Then on Thursday Eric's mom came over and cleaned up all the Christmas stuff (thanks!). Hopefully the next 5 weeks will go as well. The fun project I have to deal with next week is renewing my drivers license. Of all years they pick this one for me to have to go in to the Secretary of State office instead of just renewing by mail. Then, I'm sure they are going to take my picture and have me update my weight. I've gained 50+ pounds in the last 7 months, what are they going to expect. Then of course I'll be stuck with the same photo/license for at least the next 4 years...great. Maybe I can call and get some sympathy...tell them I won't fit thru the door way, but I am still ok to drive and get a ...

30 Weeks

30 weeks and growing. I'm excited we've made it so far and everything is still going well. I'm definitely slowing down a lot. The babies are taking up more and more room and it's getting harder to breathe. It's always surprising to be winded from sitting around and talking on the phone. On Saturday Eric took me to Target. It was fun to get out of the house. We weren't there very long and I had fun crashing into things with the motorized cart, but I can't believe how exhausted I was after the trip. It took a whole day to recover (sleeping all day). Here's the latest picture of the gigantic belly!

Happy New Year

I have a good feeling that this year is going to be exciting. A lot of people start off the new year with resolutions and the top one is usually loose weight and exercise more...right now I'm going for the opposite. I will do less and gain weight, well for the first month and a half at least... We managed to stay up till mid night last night and ring in the new year with our friends. We ate enough junk that by the time we got home I wanted to weigh myself for fun. I couldn't believe what I saw 201. What a way to start off the new year. I'm sure the babies are doing their job and using up the extra calories because I weighed 5 lbs less when I got up today. So we'll have to wait a bit longer to really be in the 200's, I don't mind. Happy New Year!!
