Tron

Image
If they made a baby version of the old movie Tron, I think this is what it would look like...

This is my Everest... Not even a full week's worth of laundry

"Blue" Photo Challenge

Image
I happened to stumble across a really neat photography blog, I ♥ Faces. They host a weekly photo contest. This week the theme is "blue." I couldn't resist entering and thought this picture of Ethan (the 1st time he held his head up) was perfect. Check out the other Blue contest entries at I ♥ Faces.

New Pajamas

Image
With the temperature in the mid 50's today, I decided to break out the new pajamas. They are so warm and snugly, too bad they don't come in my size. I bought 12 month hoping they would last a while...but they actually fit pretty well with just a little room to grow. I've also been having fun putting the boys in matching outfits. I just can't help myself. Ethan, Leah, & Logan

Another tooth

Image
After gallons of drool and an unhappy boy for a few days Logan's first tooth finally popped through yesterday. So the total tooth count is now up to 5. Ethan 2, Leah 2, and Logan 1. Leah also had a fun accomplishment yesterday. She finally rolled over from her back to her belly. She has been rolling half way and then would give up...yaa Leah. Now I just need them to learn to sleep in on the weekend. All week I had to wake them up around 6 so we'd be ready to leave in the morning...today they decided to get up around 5:30. Don't they know it's Saturday and mommy stayed up watching a movie last night. Here they all are this morning...

5K Friday

I've never been a big runner...but after this week I just needed to move. So today at lunch I laced up my running shoes and hit the track. I didn't have any intentions of doing a 5k I just wanted to run (a.k.a. jog at an embarrassingly slow pace). I managed to jog the first 2 miles and walk the rest. I'm sure I won't be able to walk later, but it felt good. My hips have never been great and after getting stretched out from the babies they are not quite the same. If I cut more aggressively at soccer or run distances on the pavement my hip tends to go out a bit and hurt a lot. So we'll see how I do tomorrow. The 5K took me around 40 minutes, like I said embarrassingly slow, but there is always next week. I might just have to dig out my fancy heart monitor watch again and time myself a bit better.

Brush up on CPR - freak accident

If you have a little one in the house it's always a good idea to brush up on CPR and first aid. You never know what will happen. Here are a couple links to first aid and CPR info. Infant First Aid CPR child 1-to-8 yrs-old I have to premise the story...Ethan is ok and back to normal. Yesterday morning Ethan was sitting on the floor playing with the other 2 babies and his cousin. He had a pillow behind him just in case he tipped over while sitting. Some how he managed to tip over and hit the floor. His helmet shifted and hit his nose when he fell. The hit gave him a bloody nose, so Jena went to tell Grandma that he tipped over and was bleeding. When Grandma got to him, he had blood all over his nose and mouth and he wasn't breathing. After Grandma gave him several chest compressions he coughed up some blood and started breathing again. EMS came and checked him out and he appeared fine. I had just arrived at work when I got the phone call of the accident and turned right a...

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Image
Today is Eric's Birthday. We celebrated on Sunday and had lots of fun with the babies. I bought a birthday kit at the store, so we had hats to go along with the good cake. The babies did really well with the hats, but they will have to wait to enjoy the cake a few more months till their birthday. Missy joined in the fun

Crash Test Babies

Image
Since the introduction of the "back to sleep" procedures for putting babies to sleep on their backs to prevent SIDS, more babies are getting flat spots on the back of their heads. The occurrence of the flat heads is more common with multiples because you just can't hold them as much. Unfortunately the boys both have flat spots on the back left side of their heads. We opted to get them helmets to even things out. Here are our cute crash test babies Ethan Logan

7 month pictures

Image
I was able to take the babies photos this morning. I had fun. Instead of setting up all my lights and background I used one light and just draped the background over some chairs. This setup worked great when dealing with one baby by myself. Everything was going great and I decided to take the boys pictures together (Leah was sleeping). Ethan fell backwards into the background that pulled the wrong way on the chair and pulled it over. The truly unfortunate part was that the chair back came down onto Logan. I'm sure it won't be the first time that Logan gets bonked on the head because of his brother...but I was definitely done taking pictures for the day after that. Leah Ethan Logan

Football Sunday

Image
To celebrate the start of the football season we all dressed up to cheer on the Lions. Yet another life lesson. We hope to raise our kids with the knowledge that there is a winner and a loser... unlike the current theories, where everyone is a winner. I'm sure rooting for the Lions will help with that.

Where'd Mom go?

Image
The babies are all realizing that when you walk away you are still there and they can find you. I walked out of the room and the boys were looking for me.

7 Months Old

Image
The babies are 7 months old today. It seemed to take forever for them to get to 6 months and already another month has passed. To celebrate another month (without them) we are going to the football game at the Big House. To pull off a full day out, we are having Uncle Scott and Aunt Sherry babysit for the first part of the day and then Grandma is coming to watch them for the evening. We are lucky to have so much family around to help (thanks!). I hope to take their 7 month pictures tomorrow. Eric doesn't think we really need them every month...but really he's tired of having a whole day devoted to pictures. I love spending the day taking photos...but usually there are more important things to get done first, like laundry. Here are a few photos. My sweet babies sleeping (they all have their favorite way to lay) (yes, we still swaddle them, and use bumpers, and haven't lowered their cribs) Ethan Leah Logan Pajama party Logan, Leah, & Ethan 2 seconds later...

Ethan's First Tooth

Image
Grandma felt his tooth when he bit her finger earlier today. So like Leah's first tooth I had to take a picture of Ethan's. I zoomed in on the camera to see if the tooth was actually visible in the photo. I was pretty surprised when I saw two teeth poking out. So, not one but two teeth poked through for Ethan today. Tooth Talley Ethan - 2 Leah - 2 Logan - 0 (but lots of drool)

Ramblings of a sleepy mommy

Teeth and 6 month shots = crabby not sleeping babies. The last two nights, the babies finally slept through the night again (all of them). For a week and a half before that they have been getting up again. With most babies if they wake up at night you can ignore them for a bit and let them fuss themselves back to sleep. With 3 there is always the fear that one fussy baby can quickly outnumber you in the middle of the night by waking up the other 2. Last night the babies slept great, but I wish I could say the same for me. I have this reoccurring dream that they are in bed with us for some reason and I wake up with the fear that they are going to roll off the bed (because I'm sleeping and not paying attention to them). The dreams are vivid enough that I wake up and look around for them...then realize it was a dream. This happened several times last night. Believe me, at 3 am those bumps and shadows in the covers can look a lot like a baby you were just dreaming was right there. So t...
