Play Time

Image
The babies are starting to develop a pattern of awake and sleep time. They stay awake in the morning for a long time, then take really good naps in the middle of the day, and then are awake and cranky just in time for daddy to come home from work. They actually are getting the concept that night time is for sleeping and will eat and go right back to sleep. They are such good babies. Here are several photos from Saturday morning playing on the activity mat. Ethan taking some time to play alone Leah woke up and wanted to play with Ethan Leah lost her own passie and was going to get Ethan's. Lucky for Ethan she doesn't move too fast yet. When the other two were tired out and back to sleep Logan had his turn to hang out and play. Of course Missy was there to over see all the activities.

6 Weeks Old

The babies are 6 weeks old today. They are so much fun and getting so much personality. They all have their favorite sleeping position and it just happens to be the same for all of them.

Logan is Home!!!

Image
The gang is all here. Logan came home yesterday and he's doing great. He's a bit smaller than the other two still but he's cute. The visiting nurse came out today to check out the babies and weighed all of them. Ethan 8lb 3oz Leah 7lb 13oz Logan 5lb 13oz Ethan and leah were so excited that Logan was coming home they couldn't sleep and just kept looking around waiting for him.

Ethan is Home

Ethan came home yesterday!!! He's still not 100%, but he's doing much better (he doesn't stop breathing while he sleeps). He's still a bit stuffy and horse from the tubes. His little cry is so muffled still it's cute and so sad at the same time. Ethan home and happy Leah is doing great and is back to herself, sporting her new shirt from Melissa. (Mommy's Little Jelly Bean) She even found time in her busy schedule of sleeping and eating to play (sleep) on her tummy.

Leah is Home!!!

Last night I brought Leah home from the hospital. We did well and the two of us survived the night together. Before bringing her home yesterday they gave her a bath to clean her up, I nursed her (she finally quit fussing after 2 days of not being content), and we were on our way. She had a follow up appointment at the pediatrician today and he said that her lungs sounded clear. So she's doing great. She is now 7lb 8.5oz, up almost 2lbs from when she was born. She's getting so big. Leah was not quite sure about her new hair due Home and sleeping soundly

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Today was a great St. Patrick's day. I guess the luck of the Irish rubbed off on the babies. They are all going in the right direction. Leah is off all oxygen and might come home tomorrow! Ethan came off the ventilator today and is doing great! Logan is heading in the right direction They are weaning him off some of the ventilator support and are weaning him off the paralytic and pain drugs so he will come off everything slowly together. He's looking like his little self again, not all puffy with extra fluids.

40 Weeks

Today is the babies official due date. They are now full term babies!! I took a few pictures of the babies today. I felt bad because I haven't taken pictures in 2 weeks (1/3 of their life so far). Eric with Ethan and Leah at Grandma's house before they got sick. Ethan Leah Logan

One Month

The babies are one month old today!!! I can't believe it's been a month already. Ethan is now just over seven and a half pounds already. He is doing well. They have been working with him to get him off the respirator. His lungs are doing better but he is still lazy and forgets to breathe while he is sleeping (apnea). So he just needs a bit more time to fight off the RSV and he should be off the respirator soon. Leah is getting close to seven and a half pounds and is doing great!!! She came off the respirator around noon today and around five I got to hold her and give her a bottle. It was so nice getting to hold her and hear her cry a bit. She is a bit horse from having the tubes down her throat so at first when she'd cry she sounded like a frog. Logan is around six and a half pounds. He's lungs are still a bit on the sick side. The doctors are working hard to take good care of him and to help his little lungs heal and to help him get better.

And then there were 3

I brought Ethan into the hospital this morning. He was showing the same signs as the other two (apnea, nostrils flaring, difficulty breathing with his chest pulling in under his ribs, and his stuffy nose). Unfortunately, he also needed the breathing tube and is in the ICU with the other 2. They will actually be moving Leah into another room with Ethan later today, right next door to Logan. I guess when one of them does something the other two have to follow...I'm sure this won't be the last time.

Another one

Leah has joined Logan at the Hospital. They are both in the Pediatric ICU on ventilators. Fortunately, we were able to just bring her in here to get checked and this morning she was having bouts of apnea (not breathing). So the doctor took her down to the ER and they got her checked in and are helping her out. We were able to catch her sooner than Logan and she is stable and doing well. Logan is doing better. He is fighting the virus and they are helping get the nasty mucus out of his lungs. So a few more days and he should be off the ventilators. Now we just have to keep washing our hands well and watching Ethan to make sure he is ok too. Thanks to everyone for the continued prayers.

Extra Prayers

Unfortunately Logan's cold was actually RSV (respiratory syncytial virus). RSV is a nasty virus like a cold that hits little babies a lot harder than adults. This year has been very bad for the virus and is highly contagious. So, Logan is in the pediatric ICU and they are helping him breathe and be comfortable to help his little body fight off the virus. The other two are doing ok. Leah is a little congested so we are watching her like crazy and Ethan is not showing any signs of congestion. So for now we are just watching and seeing how things go. Please keep them in your prayers.

One Crazy Day

Image
Today started off with the best intentions... This morning I got dressed and my Father in law drove me to renew my drivers license. I was huge and on bed rest leading up to my birthday and had to go into the office this year to renew my license and get my picture taken. Everything went well and I am now physically and legally able to drive. Then when I got home I called the dr's office to see what to do about the babies stuffy noses. Since they are so young we got to take them in to get checked out. They are all fine and just have a little cold in their noses. Poor Logan is the worst. But on a bright side they have all gained weight and don't have to go back again on Thursday. Ethan is now 6lb 7.5oz, Leah is 6lb 4.5oz, and Logan is a whopping 5lb, 3.5oz. If all that weren't exciting enough for one day, I got to go to the grocery store all by myself to pick up some saline drops for the babies noses. Plus, some where in there I fed them a few times and changed a few diapers. ...

Fun With Photos

We finally set up my background and took some pictures of the babies. It was fun, but a bit crazy. Next time I think I'll recruit more help. It's hard to be the momma and the photographer, especially with babies that can roll. All 5 of us 3 of them (we are out numbered) Ethan Logan Leah
