Happy Halloween

Image
I came up with a fun costume for Halloween...might as well show off the belly while I have it.

20 Weeks

Wednesday was my long ultrasound appointment where they checked each baby's heart, kidneys, bladder, arms, spine, and size. Typically they allow 45 minutes per baby for the ultrasound. Lucky for me I scan well and the babies cooperated and it only took about an hour to finish the ultrasound. We even had time to head over to McDonalds for a snack before the Dr. was due back from an apt he had over at the hospital. After talking with the doctor about how run down I've been getting and having a tough time makeing it through a day at work he reccomended I be off work and be home. Fortunately, I was able to set up to work from home...starting tomorrow (Friday). This is definitely going to be different. They gave us a lot of neat pictures of each baby from the ultrasound and a video. Baby 1: Now 14oz Baby 2: Now 13oz Baby 3: Now 12 oz

Jena is going to be a big cousin soon. She was excited to see the the babies in my belly. Jena even got to feel one of the babies pushing out for more room. Jena & Tracy with the babies.

19 Weeks

There is a fine line for just how much can be done in one day while pregnant with triplets. Sunday we went to the apple orchard, I took a nap when we got home, then in the evening made apple strudel (and cleaned up). Now that it's Wednesday I've finally recovered form pushing it and doing too much on Sunday. After the short 2 day recovery time, I feel great like I could just get up and run a 5K again...then I get up... I must say, everyone needs to take a trip to the aple orchard once a year. We had a lot of fun, and I'm not just saying that because of the warm cinnamon doughnuts (the babies liked the doughnuts). We walked around the animals, Eric made a friend (see picture below), saw some friends and chatted for a bit, picked some apples (a bag from in the store), enjoyed our snack, and made it home in time to make sure the fantasy football rosters were set.

We're getting big!

I had another appointment today. It's getting harder to lie on my back during the scan, but it's so neat to get to see the babies and what they are up to. Me - I'm up 25 lbs and right on track. (almost 2 lbs of baby) Baby 1 - 11 oz and likes to lay facing us. Baby 2 - 10oz and has found a hand again and might be our thumb sucker. baby 3 - 10 oz and is our boxer with both fists up.

18 Weeks - Half Way!!

Image
I made it through the easy half with flying colors, I can only hope that the second half goes as well. I'm now 18 weeks, half way to my 36 week goal (the longest they will let me go). The last few weeks have definitely left me feeling more pregnant and the reality of 3 babies is really sinking in. I think it my body is helping me with the reality of it all. I used to be able to walk 2-3 miles at lunch and then play soccer in the evening...now I walk up the steps or just walk to the bathroom and back and I'm winded. I used to be able to sleep any which way, I could just lay down and sleep...now I have to prop myself up on my side and figure out the best pillow placement which works for a while till my hip hurts and I have to find a new spot, maybe even attempt to roll over. I used to be able to do endless sit-ups...now I try and use my stomach muscles at all to sit up or twist and I get a sudden/unexpected flick in my side which shocks me enough to have to start the whole sittin...

I had another doctor appointment today. It's just so much fun getting to see the babies. Nothing new or exciting to report on them...all are well, but mamma has a cold. So my doctor sent me back home today to sleep and fight off the cold instead of going to work. I didn't argue and came right home and slept...hopefully I can kick this cold out of me here soon. Here are today's pictures. I'm starting to think that #2 is like me and always likes having a hand tucked in by their face. We even got a picture of #2 waving.
