Our Three Blessings

On my days off I've been attempting to do more with the kids on my own. A couple weeks ago we went grocery shopping and this week we had a picnic for lunch. I'm amazed at how well it worked to take all three outside and not have them contained in the stroller the whole time. We took a 2 mile walk, dropped Missy off at home and started warming lunch. We then walked another mile while lunch was warming. When we got home I grabbed the food and pushed them over to the shade on the side of the house. We had a nice lunch and they did well eating out of their little bowls. Logan is so smart and loves to explore . This only means trouble. Lately Logan has set his sights on the dishwasher and stove. He likes to pull on the stove handle and make the light go on. When we successfully move him away from the stove he heads to the dishwasher. He figured out how to open the door so I tried locking it. Unfortunately, he saw me moving the latch and now knows how to latch the door and make the buttons beep and of course start the dishwasher. It might be time to block off the kitchen.

The babies all checked out great today at their 15 month appointment. Ethan cried the whole time he was getting examined but was walking around the room happy the rest of the time. Leah wouldn't leave Grandma's lap and Logan was happy pushing around the stool and didn't mind being looked at by the doctor. My babies are growing up. They are all walking and I should probably call them toddlers...but I think they will always be my babies. Ethan Leah Logan

Our local indoor soccer facility, that we have played co-ed soccer at) offers soccer for kids starting at 18 months.  We have been encouraging the babies to kick the ball around already. Leah will kick the ball and say Yaa, cheering for herself. Here is Ethan kicking the ball around.

The last couple weeks I've been scouting Mom-to-mom sales for outdoor play slides and summer clothes for the babies. This week I was inspire by Ethan to find something for them to sit on. He has been sitting on everything. He even sat on one of the tubs full of toys with his book. We have a couple small chairs for them...but they are used to pushing each other around on the cars and just push the chair over with someone in it. Walking around the huge sale at a local church yesterday I came across the best find for $2, a little Thomas the Tank couch. It was a little grubby, but I ran the cover thru the wash and it was like new. The seat folds out into a little bed, which makes the sitting area big enough for three comfortably.
